Fall 2021 Event Planning Guidelines

Queen’s University Students

Planning an event? Don’t know where to start? Queen’s Event Services is here to help you hold a safe and successful student event.

Plan for success

Great events look easy, but they are usually the result of careful planning. Here’s how you can make sure that your student event runs smoothly:

The first step is to make sure that your event has been sanctioned by the AMS .

Book on campus and save

There are some great benefits to holding your event on campus:

  • Queen’s University students are eligible for reduced rental rates for some spaces on campus
  • Gratuities are never charged on any of our services
  • Queen’s Event Services is proud to be a department of Student Affairs. Our revenue and services support vital student life programs and contribute back to the University’s learning environment.

We cater to you

As the preferred catering supplier on campus, we offer a wide range of menu options, from snacks and break items to reception menus and upscale banquets. Our catering team has expertise providing custom services across campus, including feature events for the university, including student events such as formals (need you to add info here), as well as Homecoming events and student conferences.

Did you know?

Authorization from Queen’s Hospitality Services is required if you are planning on bringing any external catering on to campus? Download the food request form.

Alcohol on campus

In accordance with the Liquor License Act (LLA), Queen’s Hospitality Services is required to retain full control over the business conducted out of the licensed premises. This includes the purchase, sale and service of alcohol, as well as the collection of proceeds from the sale of alcohol. No sponsored alcohol is permitted. Queen’s Event Services is the point of contact for the licensing and provision of all bar services on campus.
